About us
Who we are
In Austria there has been a small but steadily growing community of Riichi Mahjong players since around 2008. Some of them have joined clubs and associations, mainly based in Baden, Graz, Vienna and Villach. Together they have successfully established an Austrian national championship, which we now organise.
The goal of the Austrian Riichi Mahjong Association is to spread the traditional Riichi game culture in our country and to represent the interests of all clubs and associations – including individuals who are part of us – in dialogue with the EMA (European Mahjong Association).
